Uhýbání před rychle jedoucími auty, bláznivými taxikáři, otevřenými dveřmi a osmi milióny nevrlých chodců je denním chlebem Wileeho (Joseph Gordon-Levitt), nejlepšího newyorského hbitého a průbojného cyklo-messengera. Chce to speciální výcvik jezdit na fixie – super lehkých kolech na jeden převod, bez brzd a mezi jezdci, kteří jsou méně zdatnými cyklisty a sebevražednými magory, kteří riskují to, z nich zbude mastný flek na chodníku pokaždé, když vyjíždějí do ulic. Ale chlápek, který je zvyklý vystavovat svůj život takovému nebezpečí, se dostane do takové situace, na kterou není zvyklý ani on. Při rutinní dodávce se jeho život změní v honičku na život a na smrt, která se odehrává v ulicích Manhattanu. Když Wilee vyzvedává svoji poslední obálku během dne, zjistí, že tenhle balíček je jiný. Tentokrát se ho někdo skutečně pokouší zabít.
